Oreo Truffles

I first saw this recipe on Kraft website while I was browsing for ideas. I was floored at how simple the recipe was, and was doubly pleased when I found out how wonderful they tasted! This is a must for any holiday get together. Who doesn't like Oreo and chocolate mixed together?

1 pkg. (1 lb. 2 oz.) OREO Cookies, finely crushed, divided
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 pkg. (8 squares each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

Mix 3 cups of the cookie crumbs and the cream cheese until well blended. Shape into 42 (1-inch) balls

Dip balls in melted chocolate; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover melted chocolate can be stored in tightly covered container at room temperature and saved for another use.) Sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs.

Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Store any leftover truffles in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Hello....Think I'll make the truffles this weekend. Can't decide if I want to do the oreo ones and the straight chocolate or both?

How did you get the white stripes on the oreo ones? melted white chocolate? Not sure I can find that here...I'll try.

Just melt like 2 oz of white chocolate bar and drizzle them over with a fork. OR, if you have extra Oreo, just crush them, and sprinkle them on the top instead of the drizzled chocolate.

Can I dip them in something like almond bark? I found this meia armago (half bitter) chocolate here that you can melt and use for dipping. There isn't unsweetened chocolate squares here. I have cocoa powder (unsweetened) that I could mix with some shortening to get the choc squares or will the thing I found work?

Also, when do you drizzle with the white chocolate? After the truffles have set?
Going to make these tomorrow!!!!!!!!
